ABOUT
THOUGHTS INTO WORDS.
AND HOW THOSE COME TO LIFE.
Chaewon Kim is a womenswear designer based in New York and an undergraduate at Parsons School of Design. She was born and raised in Seoul, Korea—a place that shaped her early sensitivity to beauty, form, and emotion.
Her work is grounded in a deep fascination with persuasion—the art of transforming intention into language, and language into form. To her, persuasion is a kind of poetry: a way of making meaning enchantingly visible and deeply felt. This desire to bring words to life led her to fashion, where thoughts are not only spoken but also worn.
Fragments of language—those that echo, linger, or spark something visceral—bloom into the seeds of her creative process. Her work continues to explore the in-between: the abstract shaped into captivating visual experiences.
